Enter Tyrannostorus in Mesa and you’ll be greeted by a life-size replica of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull! Venture further to discover additional prehistoric relics and replicas including a Triceratops skull and a wide array of fossils. There are wonders of the natural world from land and sea as well as an incredible selection of gems and minerals from around the globe. There are areas dedicated to the exploration of anthropology, entomology, geology, marine biology, and paleontology.
Private Events & Birthday Parties!
- The Basic Package is $45 per participating guest.
- All participants receive a small fossil dig, lucky strike pay dirt, a bag of polished gemstones, and a small geode.
- The birthday guest is upgraded to the large fossil dig and 10 pound motherlode bag of pay-dirt.
- The Deluxe Packages is $60 per participating guest.
- The Deluxe Package includes everything in the basic package plus water bottles and t-shirts for each participant.
- Additional activities can be added to any party package for 20% off the regular price.
- Group packages are for parties of six or more.
Interesting areas of learning include anthropology, books, bug boxes, casts/replicas, crystal stands, fossils, ice age artifacts, metaphysical, horns, skulls, teeth, jaws, paleontology supplies, “pay-dirt”, shadow boxes, shells, coral, toys, and novelties. Be delighted by dinosaur teeth, shark jaws, starfish, ammonites, trilobites, fossil plates, shiva lingam, labradorite, amethyst, bismuth, agates, quartz, and more! Tyrannostorus also offers high-end relics and replicas for science and history enthusiasts.
Hands-on activities at Tyrannostorus are designed to educate and inspire!
Unlike traditional museum settings, guests are encouraged to touch and handle materials. Children of all ages can experience the fun and adventure of safely excavating fossils at the store’s dig site and searching for gems and minerals in the sluice. Excavation kits range in price from $4.99-$39.99 depending on size and content.
Some bags have gems and minerals while others have seashells, fossils, arrowheads, and more. A 25 pound kit can be purchased for $79.99. Uncovered treasures go home with customers in a special Tyrannostorus take home box. Adults are encouraged to take part in the activities with their kids. Everyone can wash hands at the clean up station afterward.
